Assistant Project Officer (Child Rights)’ Job Responsibilities

  • Implementation & Management of Field Level Activities-40%
  • Implement field activities as per project implementation/annual plan;
  • Identify the entry points & supports for effective implementation to ensure the expected achievement of overall results;
  • Ensure the logistics in coordination with local procurement committee and the quality of training/workshops/meetings/project-related events;
  • Develop concept notes for various events;
  • Select beneficiaries/project participants following the criteria mentioned in orphan sponsorship policy;
  • Provide technical support for collecting data of post-sponsored children and compile the data for sharing;
  • Ensure all requirements set by the program management for finalizing the agreement between the family of the selected orphan children and IR;
  • Ensure the accuracy of bank account numbers of the new orphans and report to IRCO;
  • Visit each orphan family at least once a year for collecting the well being information of the sponsored child as well as observe how the project outcome is contributing to transformational changes in their lives at the community level;
  • Ensure quality APRs within the deadline set by the program management and comply with the prescribed guidelines to Al-yateem system;
  • Conduct Self Help Group (SHG) assessment at least once in a year;
  • Monitor SHG savings process and the maintain Qard- al-Hasana;

Job Context

Islamic Relief has been working in the Rohingya crisis since the last influx and implemented several projects focusing on WASH, food item support, transitional shelter preparation, supplementary food distribution, and small-scale protection structure (CFS, WFS preparation and management). IR`s seasonal program (Ramadan food distribution, Qurbani, and Frozen meat distribution) activities also have been implemented here through local implementing partners. They have expertise in WASH, shelter, food, and protection interventions. This project has been designed based on learnings and experiences that IRB and its partners have gained through its previous project in the area. Considering the needs and the vulnerability this project is designed to allocate 2000 families in Bhasanchar under Chottogram District to provide food packages to ensure food security and the other assistance including shelter, NFI and WASH will be implemented in Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazilla under Cox`s Bazar District to reach 9490 families in Rohingya makeshifts and the host communities. Key interventions include food support to Bhasanchar camp; inclusive gender-sensitive safe and dignified drinking facilities, sanitation and hygiene facilities, weather and disaster-resilient shelter, and non-food items for both the Rohingya in the camps and host communities at Cox`s Bazar & Bhasanchar.

  • Conduct the process of procurement of supplies for Food items and other programs (Shelter and WaSH) and base locations/warehouse.
